Major Intersection Improvements, Black Spots Program 24/25

Overview

The Australian Black Spot Program will continue into the 2024–25 financial year, targeting locations with a history of crashes to improve road safety. The program focuses on upgrading intersections and roads to reduce the risk of accidents for all users.

This project involves the detailed design for eight existing intersections and roads, aiming to deliver safer, more reliable journeys across Brisbane. The sites include:

• Breakfast Creek Road and Edmondstone Road, Bowen Hills

• James Street, Doggett Street and Robertson Street, Fortitude Valley

• Kessels Road and Orange Grove Road, Salisbury

• Melton Road and Nellie Street, Nundah

• St Pauls Terrace, Gipps Street and Kennigo Street, Fortitude Valley

• St Pauls Terrace, Quarry Street, Warren Street, and Gotha Street, Fortitude Valley

• Wynnum Road and Beverley Street, Morningside

• Wynnum Road, Southgate Avenue and Cannondale Street, Cannon Hill
